Ethics and Adjusters
Topics covered in the course include: Laws relating to Florida
adjusters, Adjuster duties and responsibilities and the Adjuster
Code of Ethics.
Negotiations for Adjusters
The purpose of this course is to provide insurance adjusters with
an overview of effective negotiation skills in the workplace. In
doing so we will review the negotiation process and how it affects
interpersonal, telephone, negotiation, small group negotiation activities
and public negotiation. This course will focus on the spoken, rather
than the written word.
Hurricanes: A Florida Peril
Hurricanes caused over $17 billion in damages in Florida in 2004,
raising
questions of coverage, deductibles and liability. This course traces
the
issues involving the percentage deductible, as well as FEMA's role
in paying
damages to hurricane victims. (2 hour optional)
Sexual Harassment and the Law
This 2-hour adjuster continuing education course reviews the Federal
and
State laws that apply to sexual harassment, as well as the liability
issues
facing both employers and employees.
Slip and Fall and Insurance Fraud
This 2-hour adjuster continuing education course reviews state laws
regarding
insurance fraud, fraudulent claims, and the problems related to
slip and fall
cases. Actual cases are reviewed and this course has been approved
for 2
hours of optional continuing education.
Black Boxes, Cell Phones and Auto Safety
Is there a witness hiding in your car? What are the dangers relating
to
cell phone usage and driving? What problems relate to auto safety
and teens or
elderly drivers? This 2-hour adjuster continuing education course
has been
approved for 2 hours of optional continuing education.
Medical Records and the Law
This adjuster continuing education online course is accredited for 2 hours of Law. The course covers the applicable FL statutes that applying to the custodial responsibilities and acquisition of Medical Records in FL. Medical record requests, Privacy, The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) of 1996, COBRA and Medical Record Litigation are all included.
Florida Laws Governing Medical Care and Professional Liability
This four hour Adjuster Continuing Education course outlines the laws in the State of Florida that govern Medical Care and Professional Liability, including a review of the Wrongful Death Act, Statute of Limitations and the Laws that govern Nursing Home Care. This course is applicable for Four Hours of Adjuster Law.
National Flood Insurance
This 4 hour optional Adjuster Continuing Education course gives the student an overview of the National Flood Insurance Program, how the program is administered, the rules and regulations that apply to flood insurance, as well as what adjusters must do to remain certified.
Insurance Bad Faith
A 2 hour Adjuster Continuing Education course that reviews the law and case decisions involving 'bad faith' claims including, what constitutes bad faith in Florida and what activities can result in a bad faith claim being brought against an insuerer.
