How many credit hours are required for completion of the program?

A

Eighteen total credit hours consisting of 5 core courses and one elective selected from a list.

How long does it take to complete the program?

A

We will be offering two courses each semester, including the summer term. If you enroll every semester, you will complete the certificate in one year.

What are the admission requirements?

A

Admission is open to those with a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution. You will need to submit your official transcripts. Have them sent to UCF Graduate Studies, Millican Hall 230, Orlando, FL 32816-0112

A

The application fee is $30 and must be paid before your application can be processed.

$390 per credit hour ($1,170 per 3-hour class).

A

What will this certificate provide me?

A

The Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Management offers specialized, graduate-level knowledge in nonprofit management, resource development, strategic planning, and program evaluation to those currently working in the nonprofit sector or in organizations that partner with the nonprofit sector.

Q

How will I receive my certificate?

A

After you register for your final semester, you must submit a Graduate Certificate Completion Form
(graduate.ucf.edu/formsnfiles/Openfile.cfm?ID=18). Please make sure that you fully complete the form including your classes, the semester taken, and the grade received. Send the form to the UCF Department of Public Administration, Attention Academic Services Coordinator, HPA II, Suite 238, Orlando, FL 32816-1395. The UCF Graduate Office will then certify that you have met all requirements of the certificate program. Your certificate will be mailed to you approximately six weeks after the end of your last semester.

A

Each course is led by an instructor. There are discussion boards as well as course mail to interact with the instructor and your fellow classmates.

Is there any requirement for me to visit the campus?

A

No. This program is designed for non-Florida residents and there is no requirement to visit the campus at any point during the program.

If I withdraw from the program, can I be readmitted?

A

If you do not enroll for two or more consecutive semesters, you will have to reapply for admission. Readmission is not guaranteed and the tuition and fees are subject ot change from your initial enrollment.

If I apply and can’t attend the first semester, can my application be deferred to another semester?

A

Sorry, but no. If you are accepted for a semester and cannot attend, UCF cannot defer your application. You will need to reapply and submit another application fee.

No. Participation in this program will not count toward residency

Yes, but remember that classes taken outside of those that are required for this program will be at the current non-Florida Resident tuition rates.
