Accredited Claims Adjuster Designation (Adjuster License)

In partnership with Florida Insurance University

Student Exempt from State License Exam! Approved for FL Resident & Non-resident Licensure.

This course is available as a distance learning course.  Study at home and get your license.

The distance learning ACA Designation class does exempt the student from the state exam for the 6-20 All Lines Adjuster License.

The 40-hour ACA Designation course is approved by the Florida Department of Financial Services for those who wish to obtain the State of Florida 6-20 (Company & Independent) All Lines Adjuster License. This license is also the required license for a Public Adjuster Apprentice.

Successful completion of the ACA Designation entitles the student to obtain an All Lines License without taking a state examination. This license enables the adjuster to work in all areas of insurance claims including, Property & Liability Insurance; Automobile claims; Hurricane and Catastrophe adjusting; and Workers' Compensation.

Successful completion of this course results in a reduction of license application fees by eliminating the $56.00 examination fee.

Out-of-state adjusters who need a non-resident license may use this course to obtain a Florida license. NOTE: If you come from a state that requires adjuster licensing, you must have your home state's license to qualify for the FL Non-Resident license. See Florida Statute §626.869 regarding Adjuster Continuing Education requirements.

The ACA Designation is the license designation offered by the University of Central Florida and as part of the registration process, your contact information will be forwarded to our insurance training partner, Florida Insurance University.

PUBLIC NOTICES

[*NOTICE*] TO MAINTAIN ACTIVE STATUS FOR NFIP ADJUSTER CERTIFICATION or to become flood certified, adjusters must attend an NFIP Workshop.

[*NOTICE*] TEXAS NON-RESIDENT WARNING
A Texas non-resident adjuster license will NOT allow a Florida resident to obtain the Florida resident adjuster license by reciprocity! A number of Florida adjusters have taken a Texas pre-licensing course under the mistaken impression that the Texas course will allow a Florida resident to obtain the Florida All Lines License. It does not!

[*NOTICE*] RECIPROCITY
The ACA (Accredited Claims Adjuster) Designation was authorized by the FL Legislature in 2001. This designation may only be offered by an accredited institution of higher learning, such at the University of Central Florida. The testing that makes up the designation course exempts the applicant from the state exam for the Independent or Company All Lines Adjuster license (both resident and non-resident). Residents of states that do not require adjuster licensing are eligible for the non-resident license using this course. Once the license is obtained, it is reciprocal with all states that have a reciprocity agreement with FL. In addition, once this license is used to obtain the TX license, reciprocity is available using both FL and TX, thereby giving the adjuster licensing in most of the US. Below is a list of states that are reciprocal with the FL license. Nonresident All-Lines Adjuster Reciprocal States (excludes Public Adjusters):

Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Connecticut, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, Vermont, West Virginia, Washington, Wyoming
