UCF SplitStack Software Development Program

The UCF SplitStack Software Development Program offers a flexible, immersive learning experience designed to fast-track your journey into the tech industry. By dividing the curriculum into two focused 120-hour tracks—Frontend and Backend—you have the freedom to specialize or build toward full-stack expertise at your own pace. Each course is guided by industry professionals and centers around hands-on, project-based learning, ensuring you not only understand the concepts but also apply them in real-world scenarios. Whether you're creating intuitive user interfaces or building the logic and databases behind the scenes, you'll develop a robust portfolio, gain confidence with essential tools and frameworks, and graduate ready to pursue high-demand roles in today’s digital economy.
  • UCF SplitStack Software Development Program: Backend Software Development
  • Fee: $4,495.00
    Dates: 1/5/2026 - 4/11/2026
    Modality: Online
    Instructor: John Dinsmore
    Backend Software Development
On the backend side, students will work with Node.js and Express.js to create powerful server-side applications that handle data, user authentication, and API routing. They’ll use Python for scripting and logic development, and gain proficiency in working with both SQL and NoSQL databases like MongoDB to store, retrieve, and manage data efficiently. Tools like Postman are introduced for testing and refining API endpoints, while deployment platforms like Heroku allow students to bring their applications live. These tools equip learners to build secure, scalable web services and full-stack applications that respond to real-world demands.

  • UCF SplitStack Software Development Program: Frontend Software Development
  • Fee: $4,495.00
    Dates: 8/18/2025 - 11/10/2025
    Modality: Online
    Instructor: John Dinsmore

    Frontend Software Development:
In the frontend portion of the program, students will learn to use HTML, CSS, and JavaScript—the core languages of the web—to build visually engaging and responsive user interfaces. They'll master tools like React.js to develop dynamic, component-based applications, and use APIs to integrate real-time data from backend services. With Git and GitHub, learners will practice version control and team collaboration. These skills enable students to create interactive websites, design user-friendly dashboards, and develop mobile-ready web applications that communicate seamlessly with server-side technologies.
